Reinvention of the Online Wish List service

Buying gifts for your friends is a lot of fun if you have sufficient time to shop. The gesture of gifting is liked all over the world. The receiver of the gifts appreciates it even more if it’s something of their preference. The ‘ifs’ can be eliminated if the person you are buying the gift for has a wish list and you have access to it.
We usually have an idea about what kind of things some of our closest friends would like to get for their birthday or as their wedding present but we can never be too sure unless we ask them. Then there are so many distant friends, family members and co-workers; we have absolutely no clue about their choice. That is where the concept of a Wish List comes in.
There are several different ways of creating an online wish list and they work fine for many. The only problem with all those forums is the fact that they have certain limitations in terms of reach. Only the person registered to that forum can access that list. And in today’s world no one has time to find their friend’s wish lists and handle multiple accounts at the same time.
This idea needed to be integrated with a social network in order to make it more convenient for the mass audiences. There has been quite a few attempts over Facebook to reinvent this idea but never received a lot of popularity amongst the users.
Recently a new application has been launched, for the gifting purpose, on Facebook, iPhone and Android as well. It, by far, appears to be the most extensive effort in this regard. The name of the application is GiftBox and it was developed by the team of Avenue Social Inc. It has an easy-to-use simple design which allows the user to add items from all online shopping websites. The key feature of this app is it’s availability on multiple fronts. You can easily access the wish list of your loved ones via iPhone, Android or Facebook, and buy gifts for them with just a few clicks.
Another feature of GiftBox is its integrated sponsored charity application. You can make donation to different trusts and charities. With dollar-for-dollar company matching program, the user’s donation amount is doubled by the sponsors. This Facebook app, web-browser shopping tool, iPhone and Android app is available free of cost.
